Lexa Gates has released her hypnotic new single ‘Latency’

Lexa Gates has shared new single ‘Latency’, released via Capitol Records.

The track, produced by Grammy Award winner Jasper Harris (Baby Keem, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X) and Aaron Shadrow (Doja Cat, Yeat), features hypnotic piano lines and samples Hamilton Bohannon’s ‘Tell Me You’ll Wait’.

“I got in the studio late night with the GOATS. From New York to LA. Being around all these rich older men sparked a curiosity in me. It’s a tale as old as time,” Gates explains. The track explores unfulfilled connections, with Gates adding: “It’s a sexy fantasy of a love left on delay. Waiting for a text back, or a move to be made.”

The release follows Gates’ debut album ‘Elite Vessel’, a 12-track project featuring collaborations with Alé Araya, Zelooperz, and Billy Lemos. The album debuted on both the Billboard Heatseekers chart and the Current R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Gates has recently completed her first headline tour, performing sold-out shows across the US and EU, including London’s Village Underground. She has also starred in a KITH campaign alongside Fabolous and Jadakiss, and delivered a cover of Amy Winehouse’s ‘I Heard Love Is Blind’ for Apple Music.
