Joe & The Shitboys have signed to Alcopop! Records and announced their new album ‘Greatest Shits’, set for release on 29th August 2025.
The Faroese quartet’s new record compiles their first three albums, originally released on 7″ vinyl, alongside new singles recorded at The Lullabye Factory in Amsterdam. The collection will be available on 12″ vinyl.
The band’s frontman Joe explains: “On a snowy day, I got asked if I wanted to do a bullshit one-off punk single called ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes’, in a band called Joe & The Shitboys—and I was gonna be Joe. What was supposed to be bullshit, turned out to be fucking fire, thus we marched on, and did our best to break down the conservative values and general assholes in the Faroe Islands, while the rest of the world got to join in if they pleased.”
“3 ‘Reson For Hardcore Vibes’ albums on 7″ vinyl later, I present to you our first LP: ‘GREATEST SHITS’, a greatest hits album that coincidentally contains all three albums, but we’re also throwing in a brand new EP. ‘DAM.’ was recorded on analogue in Amsterdam, and it’s our most ambitious project yet, treading into new grounds, and on new assholes. Hopefully we’re out of resons for hardcore vibes now.”
The band have shared their new AA-side single ‘SUCKBOI/LABELS’. Speaking about the tracks, Joe says: “For ‘SUCKBOI’ I wanted to cherish the few good men. A Suckboi is the opposite of a fuckboi. It’s a broski who is giving, honest, emotionally intelligent and considerate. He doesn’t take up all the space in the room. He jacks you off when he fucks you in the ass, assuring mutual pleasure, despite potential awkward postures. Appropriately, we’re also paying tribute in the song to the biggest crocodile rocker outside of Florida, Sir Elton John.”
“‘LABELS’ came about when walking around in Amsterdam and spotting a clothing store called ‘We Are Labels’, which we found disgusting and hilarious. It looked like a welcoming of a capitalistic dystopia, where branded products define us, and we worship the gods of the new world: the given name of overpriced items.”
