Wolf Alice are back with a new album ‘The Clearing’ and comeback single ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’

Wolf Alice have announced their fourth studio album ‘The Clearing’, set for release on 29th August via RCA Records. The band have also shared new single ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’.

The new track, their first piece of music in three years, was written in Seven Sisters, North London, with the album recorded in Los Angeles alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Kurstin.

‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ features Ellie Rowsell exploring a different approach to her performance. “I wanted a rock song, to focus on the performance element of a rock song and sing like Axl Rose, but to be singing a song about being a woman,” Rowsell explains. “I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past, playing it has perhaps been some way to reject the ‘girl singer in band’ trope, but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down and reach a point where I don’t feel like I need to prove that I’m a musician.”

The accompanying video for ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ is directed by Colin Solal Cardo, known for his work with Charli XCX, Robyn, Christine & The Queens and Phoenix. The visual features choreography by Emmy Award-winner Ryan Heffington.

Wolf Alice’s previous releases include their debut ‘My Love Is Cool’, 2018’s Mercury Prize-winning ‘Visions Of A Life’, and 2022’s UK Number 1 album ‘Blue Weekend’. The band are set to perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury this summer.
