The Wants have shared their new single ‘Data Tumor’

The Wants are teasing their second album ‘Bastard’, set for release on 13th June via STTT, with new single ‘Data Tumor’.

The New York City trio’s latest track follows previous single ’87 Gas’ and sees the band expanding their post-punk foundations for their first full-length release since 2020’s ‘Container’.

Madison Velding-VanDam explains the themes behind the new single: “‘Data Tumor’ inhabits the psychological push and pull of trying to assert individuality in a world intent on commodifying and distorting it. The faceless collective of information and stimuli incentivizes the surrender of personal agency. Choices have to be made or they are made for you.”

The album’s tracklist also includes ‘Void Meets Concrete’, ‘Data Tumor’, ’87 Gas’, ‘Disposable Man’, ‘All Comes At Once’, ‘Cruel’, ‘Too Tight’, ‘Lover Sister Mother’, ‘Feeling Alright’, ‘Explosions’, and ‘No Need’.
