Junk Drawer have released psychedelic new single ‘Loughgall Circus’ ahead of their second album

Belfast art-rock quartet Junk Drawer have released new single ‘Loughgall Circus’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Days of Heaven’.

The new track arrives alongside a video that matches its fever-dream aesthetic. ‘Days of Heaven’ is set for release on 6th June via Pizza Pizza Records, marking the band’s second full-length album following 2020’s ‘Ready For The House’.

The band, comprising Brian Coney, Rory Dee, and siblings Stevie and Jake Lennox, recorded the album at The Meadow Studios in Wicklow with producer Chris Ryan. The new record features ten tracks, with the first half offering shorter, brighter pop songs, while the second half explores heavier, longer compositions.

Speaking about ‘Loughgall Circus’, the band say: “We kind of have an obsession with this place. We love it so much. How could we not? ‘A pebbledash wonderland’, where history, class and context seeps into every piece of language, from your choice of enunciation to delivery of a joke, in the most macro ways.”
