Jessica Winter has released an Edward Scissorhands-inspired video for her new single ‘Wannabe’

Jessica Winter has unveiled her new single ‘Wannabe’, the third track to be taken from her upcoming debut album ‘My First Album’.

The British singer, songwriter, and producer’s latest offering showcases a stripped-back approach, drawing influence from 90s grunge. The track arrives alongside a music video directed by Roger Spy, which reimagines the iconic hair-cutting scene from ‘Edward Scissorhands’.

“I wrote this song after a lengthy doom scroll. Got bored of feeling less than and the daily comparison. This song is a friendly reminder to stay in your own lane and to remember you are just as alien as everybody else,” Winter explains.

The album follows Winter’s previous EPs ‘Limerence’ (2023), ‘More Sad Music’ (2021), and ‘Sad Music’ (2020). Winter has also collaborated with numerous artists as a co-writer and producer, including The Horrors, The Big Moon, Jazmin Bean, and Walt Disco.
