ratbag has released her new EP ‘kissing under an (almost) full moon’ via Mischief Records. The EP features previously released singles ‘look what you’re doing to me’ and ‘juliet & juliet’, alongside new tracks ‘lose her’ and ‘king of kingston’.
The four-track collection explores themes of womanhood, with the artist explaining the EP’s dual nature. “In the last year i’ve started to really feel the growing pains of becoming a woman – of moulding into myself and my sexuality – and falling in love,” ratbag share. “It’s liberating, but at the same time i’m feeling the world around me becoming more and more terrifying. This EP is about both those things – the love of womanhood and the horrors too.”
“I’m finding that being a woman is simultaneously beautiful, sexy and dangerous so i wanted to make 4 tracks that don’t just dance around these concepts, but instead, cut straight through them,” they continue. “The divide of the EP is a slap in the face between the softness and peace of being a woman and the unfortunate reality that i’ve been slowly growing into.”
The artist has also announced their first headline London show, alongside European festival appearances.
