Glasgow’s Humour have announced their debut album ‘Learning Greek’, set for release on 8th August via So Young Records. The band have also shared new single ‘Plagiarist’.
The album, which contains 11 tracks, follows their previous EPs ‘Pure Misery’ and ‘A Small Crowd Gathered To Watch Me’. Recorded at Post Electric studio in Edinburgh with Idlewild’s Rod Jones producing, the record will be available on CD, standard LP, Dinked edition LP, and a Rough Trade exclusive edition featuring a companion zine.
Speaking about new single ‘Plagiarist’, vocalist Andreas Christoloudis explains: “Plagiarist is about being a lyricist and having run out of ideas and inspiration. In the song, the character is under pressure to put words to music written by the band, and realises that he can’t even steal lines from his favourite books because he has already used them all. He fears being discovered as a fraud and being punished for it with death.”
The band have also announced their most extensive UK headline tour to date, scheduled for later this year.
