spill tab has released new single ‘Hold Me’, the final track to be shared ahead of debut album ‘ANGIE’.
The French-Korean songwriter and producer’s new offering is a stripped-back ballad co-produced alongside Wyatt Bernard, Austin Corona, and Will Van Zandt.
“‘Hold Me’ was one of those special songs that poured out the day it was written,” spill tab explains. “Sometimes songs take months or years to feel finished, I’m such an editor when it comes to my music, I love to cut and replace and add new parts here and there, or rewrite whole verses. But this one is really precious because it’s an honest snapshot of how I was feeling that day. I was sad and so lonely, and was processing a difficult breakup at that point. And so I love this song because it feels like a little world within a crystal, very honestly captured and well preserved.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Sweetiepie, follows spill tab through various intimate moments, including scenes with her mother, partner, and dog.
‘ANGIE’, set for release via Because Music, comprises 12 tracks ranging from the glitchy ‘PINK LEMONADE’ to French-language ‘De Guerre’ and the guitar-driven title track.
“I love this collection of songs so deeply,” she says. “They feel more honest than anything I’ve created in a long time, and I’m so proud of the hundreds (thousands??) of hours that were spent writing, producing, chipping away at vocals, tightening up harmonies, re-writing bass lines, deleting entire sections, coming up with completely new ones, with all the insane collaborators that worked on this project. It’s really special to hear all these experiences on love and loss, rejection and passion, walking away and holding on too tight, all coexisting together in one place: a cumulation of these last few years of my life.”
