Soft Play have written an open letter to Keanu Reeves, inviting the actor to join them during their Coachella 2025 performance.
The punk duo are scheduled to perform on the Sonora Stage during the festival’s second weekend, where they hope Reeves might join them to play bass on their track ‘John Wick’. The song, which appears on their 2024 album ‘Heavy Jelly’, runs for 82 seconds and draws direct inspiration from Reeves’ action film character.
In their letter to the actor, the band wrote: “Keanu we fucking love you mate, we wrote a song about John Wick, from the perspective of John Wick. We’d love for you to hear it and it would be a dream come true if you would come and play bass on it with us at Coachella. Much love. Isaac (age 33) and Laurie (age 32) xx”
Reeves has significant musical experience, having played bass in Dogstar since the early ’90s. The band released their comeback album ‘Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees’ in 2023, following an extended hiatus.
