Cassyette has dropped a deluxe version of her debut album with new single ‘Phantom Limb’

Cassyette has released a deluxe version of her debut album ‘This World Still Fucking Sucks’, featuring new single ‘Phantom Limb’, via 23 Recordings.

The 19-track deluxe edition expands on her UK top 40 debut album ‘This World Fucking Sucks’, adding the new single alongside a Lady Gaga-approved cover of ‘Disease’, a stripped version of ‘When She Told Me’, and an extended version of ‘Sex Metal’.

“Phantom limb syndrome is a chronic condition that causes people to feel sensations in a missing limb. Someone I know had the condition and we talked about how the body holds onto pain and can get so accustomed to particular feelings, whether that’s mental or physical to the point where the catalyst is no longer there but it still feels so present,” Cassyette says of the new single.

“Phantom limb is about what it’s like to leave someone toxic that never loved you back. Being out of the toxic situation yet my body was holding onto residual feelings and emotional pain for long after. I felt like I had to relearn my entire existence. ‘This World Still Fucking Sucks’ is very much that chapter of my life. I am closing that chapter now. Life has changed and something new is bubbling.”

The album, created with collaborators Tylr Rydr, Olly Burden, and Olivia Sebastianelli, features previously released singles ‘Friends In Low Places’, ‘Ipecac’, ‘Over It’, and ‘Why Am I Like This?’.

To mark the release, Cassyette is launching ‘Degenerette’, a new queer/goth club night for the alternative and LGBTQIA+ community at Brighton’s Club Revenge on 19th April.
