My Chemical Romance are set to release a deluxe edition of their sophomore album ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ on 6th June, marking 21 years since its original release.
The expanded version features the album remixed and remastered by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Rich Costey, alongside four bonus tracks recorded for BBC Radio 1’s ‘The Lock Up’ in 2005. These additional tracks include previously unreleased live versions of ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’, ‘Helena’, and ‘The Ghost Of You’, plus a live recording of ‘You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison’.
The deluxe edition will be available on CD, multiple coloured vinyl variants, and digital formats. The vinyl release features a special three-sided format, with the fourth side containing an etching. The release also comes with new artwork, and the band have released a film-restored version of the ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ music video.
The original album, which has sold over 7 million copies worldwide, features singles including ‘Helena’, ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’, ‘The Ghost Of You’, ‘Thank You For The Venom’, and ‘You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison’. The record achieved platinum certification within a year of its initial release and has since reached 3x platinum status.
The announcement coincides with My Chemical Romance’s upcoming North American stadium tour, ‘Long Live: The Black Parade’, which has already sold out.
