The Maccabees have added extra Dublin and Manchester shows to their tour due to high demand

The Maccabees have announced additional warm-up shows in Dublin and Manchester ahead of their All Points East headline performance this August.

The dates mark the band’s first UK and Ireland shows in nine years, with the group adding extra performances due to high demand. The newly announced shows will take place at Dublin Academy and Manchester O2 Victoria Warehouse.

Guitarist Felix White says, “We can’t wait to be The Maccabees again! These shows will be really magical, playing the songs that form such a part of our collective lives, in the UK & Ireland in the lead up to All Points East Festival. It’s something we genuinely didn’t think would happen again and are really determined to make special now that it is. We’ll see you there.”

The reunion’s origins can be traced to guitarist Hugo White’s wedding in February 2020, where the band performed ‘Pelican’ alongside guest appearances from artists including Adele, Florence + The Machine and Jamie T. This marked their first time performing together since their final show at Alexandra Palace.

The Maccabees – comprising Orlando Weeks, Felix and Hugo White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle – released four studio albums during their initial run, including their debut ‘Colour It In’ and their first number one record ‘Marks To Prove It’. Their achievements include a Mercury Prize nomination for ‘Given To The Wild’, an Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song for ‘Pelican’, and Best British Band at the NME Awards in 2016.

Tickets for all shows will be available from 9am BST on 11th April.
