Slung have shared new single ‘Class A Cherry’, taken from their upcoming debut album ‘In Ways’.
The Brighton band’s latest track explores themes of sex work and power dynamics, with string arrangements composed and performed by Ukrainian group Kaska Studio String Section.
“This song was inspired by strippers, escorts and sex workers and the power dynamics that come with that profession,” Katie Oldham explains. “It’s told from the perspective of a woman weaponizing the male gaze that she must endure regardless, and advising others to use it for their own advantage.”
‘In Ways’ is set for release on 2nd May via Fat Dracula. The record also features previously-released tracks ‘Thinking About It’, ‘Collider’ and ‘Laughter’.
