London post-punk group Alien Chicks have shared their new single ‘Mr Muscle’, taken from their upcoming EP ‘Forbidden Fruit’.
The track serves as the third single to be lifted from the EP, following previous releases ‘Donkeyhead’ and ‘Babe’. The new EP is set to arrive on 9th May via Hideous Mink Records and SO Recordings.
The three-piece, comprising Josef Lindsay on guitar and vocals, Stefan Parker-Steele on bass, and Martha Daniels on drums, explain: “‘Mr Muscle’ is a high energy crowd favourite characteristic of our sound in that it is uncategorisable, uncountable, unplaylistable and erratic.
“The slapstick chorus is about our favourite cleaning products that we would use if we ever cleaned, but there are some more serious themes in the verses such as the mundanity of life and capitalism-induced boredom and nihilism.”
The band’s recent activities have included Independent Venue Week appearances and a support tour with Pom Poko. They are now preparing for a series of live shows across Europe and the UK.
