The Horrors are going to headline A Stone’s Throw Festival opening party in North Shields

The Horrors have been announced as headliners for A Stone’s Throw Festival 2025’s opening party, set to perform at The Exchange 1856, North Shields on 23rd May.

The festival, now in its third year, will take place across multiple venues in North Shields, featuring a three-day programme including a free preview showcase on 24th May delivered by Generator North East at The Engine Room.

The weekend continues with Lanterns On The Lake performing on Saturday evening, before the main festival day on Sunday 25th May. The multi-venue event will be headlined by Shame, with performances from Katy J Pearson, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Swim Deep, and DEADLETTER among others.

“We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add a Friday opening ft. legendary goth-indie band The Horrors,” says festival founder Anthony Thompson. “We’re working closely with Generator North East to provide a FREE ENTRY preview on the Saturday featuring an array of excellent local artists. We aim for the event to be accessible to its community and although it’s not viable to make the entire weekend free, we hope this offers an option for those who want to soak up the A Stone’s Throw atmosphere free of charge.”

The festival, running in association with NS 800, celebrates North Shields’ 800th anniversary. Go North East will provide bus services between the five participating venues: The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room.
