Mahalia has teamed up with Masicka on her new single ‘Different Type of Love’

Mahalia has released her new single ‘Different Type Of Love’, featuring dancehall artist Masicka.

The track marks another release in her “Luvergirl” era, following recent singles ‘Pressure Points’ featuring Lila Iké and ‘Pick Up The Pace’ featuring Bayka. The new song follows the release of her second album ‘IRL’.

“I’ve been waiting for Different Type Of Love to come out since it was made. It’s fun, sexy and the perfect ‘luvergirl’ record. I’ve been a FAN of Masicka for a long time and i’m so so excited that he’s on this!!” Mahalia says of the release.

The track represents a shift in direction for the artist, who explains: “I love love. But recently, I’ve been leaning into the fun, unserious side of it. The world is so heavy right now—I want my music to be a space where people can find joy and playfulness.”

Throughout her twelve-year career, Mahalia has received three MOBO Awards, four BRIT nominations, and a Grammy nomination. She has also collaborated with Ed Sheeran and appeared alongside Adele.
