Little Simz has released ‘Free’ ahead of her new album ‘Lotus’

Little Simz have shared new single ‘Free’, the second track to be taken from their upcoming sixth album ‘Lotus’.

The new track, which was initially written as a poem, explores themes of love and fear, featuring production from Miles Clinton James. “Love will never judge you because of your pain,” Simz raps over the instrumental.

‘Free’ follows previous single ‘Flood’, which featured collaborations with Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly, accompanied by a video directed by Salomon Ligthelm. The tracks offer early glimpses into ‘Lotus’, with the album title representing themes of renewal and growth.

The artist has also been announced as curator of the Southbank Centre’s 30th Meltdown Festival. The 11-day event will feature performances from The Streets, Sasha Keable, Lola Young, Ghetts, and Jon Bapiste, with Little Simz set to perform alongside the Southbank Centre Resident Chineke! Orchestra.
