Amie Blu is back with her introspective new single inspired by self-sabotage, ‘swimming in pity’

Amie Blu has released her new single ‘swimming in pity’ via 0207 Def Jam / Polydor Label Group.

The South London singer-songwriter’s latest track follows her 2024 mixtape ‘how we lose’, which featured ‘everything about her’ and was celebrated with a sold-out show at London’s Omeara. The new single combines intimate acoustics and yacht-rock elements, showcasing Blu’s distinctive vocals.

“I sometimes find a lot of comfort in my own sadness, and find it easier to wallow in my depression. As hard as it is to pull yourself out from that kind of place, it can also be really easy to just sit with it. ‘swimming in pity’ is me acknowledging this feeling of my own self-sabotage when it comes to my mental health,” Blu explains.
