WU LYF have announced their return with a series of live shows, marking their first performances in 13 years.
The Manchester band, who released their sole album ‘Go Tell Fire to the Mountain’ in 2011, are set to play three hometown shows alongside festival appearances in France and Belgium.
The announcement follows frontperson Ellery James Roberts’ recent dissolution of his Lost Under Heaven project. The news emerged through postcards sent to fans containing website details of the upcoming performances, while the band’s L Y F Recordings label shared billboard images featuring the text ‘A new life is coming’ across their social media channels.
These performances will be WU LYF’s first since their disbandment in 2012, when Roberts announced their split stating, “WU LYF is dead to me. The sincerity of ‘Go tell fire’ was lost in the bull shit of maintaining face in the world we live. Clap your hands chimp everybody’s watching.”
