Robert Smith is going to curate a week of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at Royal Albert Hall in 2026

Teenage Cancer Trust have announced the addition of a special Erased Tapes showcase to their Royal Albert Hall concert series, alongside news that The Cure’s Robert Smith will curate the 2026 edition of the event.

The Erased Tapes show, taking place on 29th March, will feature performances from Penguin Cafe, Daniel Brandt, Douglas Dare, and Hatis Noit. Brandt will present an exclusive preview of his new multimedia project ‘Without Us’, ahead of its full premiere at the Barbican Hall.

“It’s not every day that you get asked to take over a space like the Royal Albert Hall. To return within a decade feels more than an honour, especially for such a great cause,” says Erased Tapes founder Robert Raths.

Jamie Johnson, Head of Music & Entertainment at Teenage Cancer Trust, says: “We’re thrilled to welcome Erased Tapes to the Saturday slot at the Royal Albert Hall. Their unique sound and artistry will create an unforgettable experience that music fans won’t want to miss.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Robert Smith will oversee the week of concerts from 23rd-29th March. Smith, who previously performed with The Cure at the event in 2006 and 2014, says: “Teenage Cancer Trust does the most fantastic work, and it is a great honour – and a real thrill – to be asked to curate the 2026 shows at the Royal Albert Hall. I can promise it will be a very memorable week!”
