Opening the show, Fender walked out to NUFC’s anthem – Mark Knopfler’s ‘Going Home: Theme of the Local Hero’. Later in the set, he modified lyrics in his track ‘Little Bit Closer’, changing “I never found him” to “his name is Dan Burn”, referencing the Newcastle player who scored in the 45th minute of the final.

“Already got emotional today. Shed some tears. HWTL,” Fender shared before the match, later adding: “Best day ever. We deserved it. 70 years. The clock has been reset. Howay the lads.”
