YAANG – No EP

Label: Crackedankles Records
Released: 14th March 2025

YAANG’s debut EP ‘No’ captures that brilliant moment of indecision before a big night out – when you’re caught between the gravitational pull of the mosh pit and the glittering promise of the dancefloor. The Manchester trio have crafted four tracks that exist in this delicious liminal space, where pristine indie production crashes headlong into raw punk energy.

‘Til Morning Light’ stands tallest among the collection, a proper arms-in-the-air moment that would sit comfortably between peak-era Vaccines without raising any eyebrows. The interplay between needle-sharp guitars and that muscular rhythm section creates an unstoppable forward thrust that’s impossible to resist.

The remaining tracks find YAANG in exploratory mode, testing the boundaries of their sound like someone trying on different personalities in front of a mirror. Sometimes, their attempts to scuff up their natural polish feel like wearing borrowed clothes, caught between capturing sweat-drenched intensity and radio-ready sheen.

Yet there’s something magnetic about witnessing a band navigate these creative crossroads in real-time. When everything clicks, YAANG prove they can craft proper earworm indie that maintains its bite while dancing under disco lights. Their moments of uncertainty feel less like wrong turns and more like necessary detours on the road to something special.
