Thom Yorke has released a live version of ‘Back In The Game’, his collaboration with Mark Pritchard, recorded at Sydney Opera House.
The track, originally released on WARP Records in January, was performed live during Yorke’s solo tour of Asia, Australia and New Zealand in late 2024. The live version features Pritchard joining Yorke on stage, performing synths during the 2nd November performance.
‘Back In The Game’ marks the second collaboration between Yorke and electronic producer Pritchard, following 2016’s ‘Beautiful People’. The new track features Pritchard manipulating Yorke’s vocals using a H910 Harmonizer, one of the earliest digital audio effect devices. While the pair are reportedly working on a full-length collaborative album together, no official details have been confirmed.
“I am not aware of it and don’t really give a flying fuck,” Yorke told Double J when asked about speculation regarding Radiohead’s future. “No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
The release follows ‘Cutouts’, Yorke’s most recent album with The Smile, his project alongside Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner. While Radiohead held reunion rehearsals over the summer, Jonny Greenwood has confirmed there are no plans for any Radiohead activity in 2025, with members focusing on individual projects.
