Radio Free Alice have shared new single ‘Empty Words’, ahead of their upcoming SXSW performances and UK summer residency.
The track was written and recorded during the band’s downtime between shows in London last year, marking the first release from their forthcoming project scheduled for 2025.
“Empty Words came out of a jam like most of our songs do,” the band explain. “It was in some downtime between shows while we were in the UK last year. Lyrically it’s about the feeling of social stagnation that I think a lot of young people in our generation feel.”
The Naarm/Melbourne quartet – comprising Noah Learmonth on vocals and guitar, Jules Paradiso on guitar, Michael Phillips on bass and saxophone, and Lochie Dowd on drums – formed in Gadigal Land/Sydney in 2020 before relocating to Melbourne. Their previous release, ‘Polyester EP’ led to extensive touring across the UK and Europe. The band also supported The Killers on their Australian tour and completed a sold-out national headline run.
