Employed To Serve are teasing their new album ‘Fallen Star’, set for release on 25th April via Spinefarm, sharing the title-track as their latest single.
The new song explores themes of watching someone close struggle with burnout. “‘Fallen Star’ is about enduring the burn out of someone close to us,” explains vocalist Justine Jones. “It can be devastating to look on helplessly as someone you care for continues to fly too close to the sun and not learn from it. Sometimes you need to just distance yourself and love them from afar. We felt it should be the title track as it thematically centers around the lyrics of the new record. Breaking bad habits and overcoming the challenges life throws our way.”
The album, produced and mixed by Lewis Johns, features guest appearances from Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach on ‘Whose Side Are You On?’ and Svalbard’s Serena Cherry on ‘Last Laugh’. The record also includes previous single ‘Atonement’, which features Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos delivering both his signature growls and his first-ever clean vocals on an album feature.
“We want to fly the flag for heavy metal and the traditions that it holds,” guitarist and songwriter Sammy Urwin says, “But at the same time we want to play our part in taking things forward.”
The band are embarking on a UK headline tour with support from Celestial Sanctuary and Burner. The dates in full read:
