Y have released a new homage to the downtrodden, debut EP teaser track ‘Hate’

London’s Y have shared new single ‘Hate’, the second track to be revealed from their forthcoming self-titled EP.

The quintet, which features members associated with Fat White Family, Meatraffle and Pregoblin, emerged last month with debut single ‘Why’.

“‘Hate’ is a love song. It is a homage to the downtrodden and a celebration of everyday anguish and petty resentments we all feel,” Y explain. “Birthed on a rainy day, with little money in the bank, ‘Hate’ was written in response to a hilarious moment of self reflection. It is a love song inverted, it is a hate song.”

The band, comprising Adam Brennan (vocals, guitar), Sophie Coppin (vocals, synth), Dan GB (bass), Fells (drums), and Harry Mchale (sax), have signed to Hideous Mink Records and SO Recordings for the release. Their live performances have already seen them supporting Fat Dog and Keg.
