Witch Post have announced their debut EP ‘Beast’, set for release on 16th April, alongside sharing their new single ‘Dreaming’.
The duo, comprising Alaska Reid and Dylan Fraser, formed after a chance meeting, discovering they hailed from namesake towns in Scotland and Montana respectively. Reid’s background in American indie atmospherics and Fraser’s mirror-warped pop sensibilities combine to create their distinctive sound.
‘Dreaming’ showcases the pair’s harmonies against a backdrop of guitars and drums, representing one of their earliest collaborations. The track follows their previous singles ‘Chill Out’ and ‘Rust’.
“We walk along the Thames. Dark water reflecting a full moon. We have a pint on the roof of a pub. The wind is icy but it’s tough to care when we can feel something bubbling below the surface, a secret of some kind. Fast forward to this year and we’re lying in the snow two miles away from the Yellowstone River. She stares down the North Star and he grits his teeth. Everything is quiet for a moment,” the band share.
The duo are set to play a Dork’s Night Out show in London next week (27th February). You can grab tickets here.
The ‘Beast’ EP comprises six tracks: ‘Chill Out’, ‘Dreaming’, ‘Spell’, ‘Rust’, ‘Ragged’, and ‘The Wolf’.
