Snapped Ankles release new song ‘Pay The Rent’, announce GoFundTrees campaign

Snapped Ankles have released new track ‘Pay The Rent’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Hard Times Furious Dancing’, set for release on 28th March via The Leaf Label.

Alongside the new track, the band are launching a GoFundTrees awareness campaign on 21st February at 10am GMT. The initiative aims to highlight the true cost of touring in 2025, offering supporters various ways to contribute, including online HIIT sessions, furious dance parties in Epping Forest, and the opportunity to purchase the band’s signature Ghillie Suits and exclusive merchandise.

‘Pay The Rent’ examines the impact of the global cost of living crisis on the arts sector. “Dancing at the misery of the situation,” is how Ankle Austin describes the track, which takes aim at Brexit’s architects and their impact on touring sustainability. The song’s sound was influenced by the band’s residency at Venue MOT, leading to a more groove-focused approach on their new album.

The album’s tracklist includes ‘Pay The Rent’, ‘Personal Responsibilities’, ‘Raoul’, ‘Dancing In Transit’, ‘Where’s The Caganer?’, ‘Smart World’, ‘Hagen Im Garten’, ‘摆烂 Bai Lan’, and ‘Closely Observed’.
