Slung have shared their new single ‘Collider’, taken from their upcoming debut album ‘In Ways’, due 2nd May.
The Brighton rock outfit’s latest track showcases vocalist Katie Oldham‘s storytelling, with lyrics focusing on a fictional cult and their relationship with psychedelics. “I came up with a new narrative for this one based on the psych-infused nature of the tune,” Oldham explains. “They tell the story of a cult who are ruled by a deity they refer to as the ‘ritual prophet’ and whom they converse with through the use of psychedelics.”
The track was initially developed by bassist Vlad Matveikov alongside Zac Jackson from El Moono. “I kept most of Zac’s melodies as I really like the simplicity and drawn out syllables,” Oldham adds.
