Kendrick Lamar has written the title track for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, according to the film’s star Anthony Mackie.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mackie, who plays the titular character, revealed: “Kendrick did the title song for my movie.” He continued: “Hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise! I’m breaking it here first. I’m so excited, man. The beauty and mastery of his craft…”
The track marks Lamar’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his work on the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack in 2018. That project saw him curate the album and contribute two songs: ‘All The Stars’ featuring SZA and ‘Pray For Me’ with The Weeknd.
The new song will be Lamar’s first material of 2025, following the release of his sixth album ‘GNX’ in November 2024. Earlier this month, Lamar collected five Grammy Awards, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for ‘Not Like Us’.
