Reading & Leeds Festival have announced their biggest camping overhaul in the event’s 55-year history, introducing five new distinct campsites and comprehensive facility improvements across both sites.
The festival, which won the Innovation Award at the 2024 UK Festival Awards for their Chevron Stage, will implement substantial changes to create what organisers are calling an industry-leading camping experience. The new structure introduces five unique camping areas: The Fields, The Garden, The Meadow, The Grove, and The Valley, each offering different atmospheres and facilities at no additional cost.
Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic, says: “It brings me great excitement and pride to unveil not just the biggest change in the Reading & Leeds festival sites since 1989 but the most comprehensive overhaul in the camping experience at a UK festival in festival history. That experience at Reading & Leeds is a formative part of the weekend and something that means a lot to not just festival-goers but us as organisers too.”
The improvements include new vacuum toilet facilities across all campsites, reducing water usage by 75% and lowering carbon footprint by 66%. Additional shower facilities and complimentary ‘Get Ready With Me’ stations will be available throughout all camping areas. Each campsite will feature specific programming, including activities such as run clubs, yoga sessions, movie screenings, and clothes swap shops.
The festival, headlined by Chappell Roan, Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon, and Hozier, will take place across the August bank holiday weekend from 21st to 24th August at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds. The lineup also features AJ Tracey, Becky Hill, Sammy Virji, The Kooks, Bloc Party, Enter Shikari, and more acts to be announced.
