PUNCHBAG have signed to Mute and released their debut single ‘Fuck It’

South London siblings PUNCHBAG have signed to Mute and released their debut single ‘Fuck It’.

The duo, consisting of Clara and Anders Bach, blend sugar-sweet pop hooks with leftfield production, creating a sound that oscillates between aggression and joy.

“It’s not nihilistic,” Clara explains of the song’s central refrain. “It’s more like, we only have so much time, so do the thing you want to do. Kiss the person you want to kiss, say that thing you want to say.”

The band have been building a reputation for their live performances since their debut less than a year ago. “We take it seriously,” says Clara. “We’ve thought about it a lot, and it was important that from the first time we performed it was fully formed. We’re Virgos. We’re perfectionists.

“We’d rather someone had a strong adverse reaction to our music than it be just played in the background,” adds Anders.

The track arrives alongside a video directed by Joe Gainsborough, with creative direction by Abi Ford. It follows their self-released visualiser for ‘Pretty Youth’, which appeared on YouTube in late 2024. They’re set to play a Dork’s Night Out show with Nightbus on 6th March at London’s Sebright Arms.
