Liam Gallagher responds to Oasis ticket cancellations, says he ‘doesn’t make the rules’

Liam Gallagher has responded to the cancellation of thousands of tickets for upcoming Oasis shows, addressing concerns over Ticketmaster’s recent crackdown on bots and touts.

The cancellations come as part of an effort by promoters Live Nation and SJM to combat ticket reselling, with approximately 50,000 tickets having appeared on secondary sites. The companies have confirmed that all tickets sold through secondary ticketing sites, except for Twickets, will be cancelled and made available again through Ticketmaster at face value.

Responding to fans’ concerns about legitimate tickets being wrongfully cancelled, Gallagher wrote on X: ‘I don’t make the rules. We’re trying to do the right thing. It is what it is, I’m the singer. Get off my case’.

Ticketmaster has advised affected customers to consult their ‘Oasis Refunds FAQ’ page, with a spokesperson stating: ‘For ticket purchasers who believe they have had tickets refunded in error, refer to the email sent by the relevant agent when informed. Expert Abuse and Fraud teams have reviewed all sales and identified any made by bots. We cannot go into more detail, as we do not want bot-using touts to have any further information on the process’.

Gallagher also confirmed the band will not feature any special guests during their performances, responding to a fan query with: ‘None of that nonsense’.
