DE’WAYNE has released a new single ‘highway robbery’ via Fearless Records, accompanied by a music video (arriving at 6pm GMT).
The track combines guitar work with funk-influenced vocals and rhythmic drums, drawing inspiration from Ohio Players and late 90s Lenny Kravitz.
“The title was inspired by a heartfelt connection with my partner. She didn’t literally steal my heart—but I left the door wide open for it. I wrote this song as a poem first, and it evolved into this rock’n’roll soul influence. It feels good to be locked in!” says DE’WAYNE.
The Houston-born, Los Angeles-based artist has released several projects including ‘STAINS’ in 2021, ‘My Favorite Blue Jeans’ in 2022, and ‘I WANT YOU MORE THAN ANYBODY WANTS YOU EP’ in 2024.
