Black Sabbath will reunite for Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show at Birmingham’s Villa Park

Black Sabbath have announced their first performance with their original lineup in 20 years, set to take place at Villa Park in Birmingham on 5th July.

The metal icons will headline ‘Back To The Beginning’, with Ozzy Osbourne performing a solo set before joining his former bandmates – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – for what is billed as his final performance.

“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning…. time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy says. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

The all-day event will feature performances from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon. A special supergroup will also perform, featuring Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Frank Bello, Fred Durst, Jake E Lee, Jonathan Davis, KK Downing, Lzzy Hale, Mike Bordin, Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Scott Ian, Slash, Sleep Token ii, Papa V Perpetua, Tom Morello, Wolfgang Van Halen and Zakk Wylde.

Black Sabbath formed in Birmingham in 1968 and have sold over 75 million albums worldwide throughout their career. All profits from the event will be shared equally between Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
