Peter Doherty is going to headline a Spotlight show at The Great Escape

The Great Escape has announced Peter Doherty will headline a new Spotlight show for 2025, alongside over 120 new additions to their line-up.

The singer-songwriter and Libertines co-frontman will perform at The Deep End as part of a TGE Brighton Beach takeover on 14th May, joined by post-punk outfit Warmduscher and Welsh indie-punks Trampolene. The showcase, presented by Doherty’s own Strap Originals label, celebrates the release of his new album ‘Felt Better Alive’.

For 2025, The Great Escape are expanding their programme to include four full days of live music, opening their doors from 5pm on Wednesday 14th May across venues throughout Brighton.

The festival’s new line-up additions span multiple genres, including Northern Irish rapper Jordan Adetunji, industrial-pop artist Lynks, indie band The K’s, art-punks Man/Woman/Chainsaw, up-and-coming trio Sunday (1994), rapper Black Fondu, indie-rockers Westside Cowboy, and Australian post-disco act Donny Benét.

The Road to The Great Escape will return to King Tut’s, Glasgow on 9th and 10th May, and Whelan’s, Dublin on 12th and 13th May, featuring a selection of artists performing ahead of the main event.
