Mandrake Handshake have shared a new 8-minute single ahead of their debut album ‘Earth-Sized Worlds’

Mandrake Handshake have released new single ‘Hypersonic Super-Asterid’, the latest preview of their debut album ‘Earth-Sized Worlds’, set to arrive via Tip Top Recordings on 21st February.

The track, a re-recorded version of their debut single, arrives as part of the build-up to the Oxford band’s first full-length, which features previous singles ‘Charlie’s Comet’, ‘King Cnut’ and ‘The Change And The Changing’.

“‘Hypersonic Super-Asterid’ is the Mandrake Handshake origin story; the protease fibres that make up our genetic code,” the band explain. “Prompted by a Stereolab live set and the visions of a utopian society it inspired (naturally), the creation of this song marked our progression into Mandrake Handshake-dom: a damascene vision of our musical future like rays of light bursting into our eyelids. Being the first single we ever released, and played at every single live-show since, Hypersonic Super-Asterid now comes to you revamped, re-juiced, and in techi-colour widescreen surround sound for the very first time.”
