d4vd has announced his debut album ‘WITHERED’, set for release via Darkroom/Interscope on 25th April, alongside a new single ‘One More Dance’, coming this Friday (7th February).
The 19-year-old artist’s first full-length follows his previous EPs ‘Petals to Thorns’ and ‘The Lost Petals’. The album explores the lifecycle of a rose, designed to be experienced sequentially, chronicling the progression and eventual dissolution of a relationship.
The Houston native, who began his musical journey creating soundtracks for Fortnite montages, has experienced a rapid rise since his emergence. His 2022 tracks ‘Romantic Homicide’ and ‘Here With Me’ have each accumulated over a billion streams, making him one of the first artists to achieve this milestone before releasing a debut album.
The album’s creation process saw d4vd alternating between recording on BandLab in his sister’s closet in Houston and collaborating with producers Jack Hallenbeck, Scott James, and silent$ky in London. Additional sessions in Los Angeles involved work with songwriter Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry.
To mark the album’s release, d4vd will perform a hometown headline show, following his first appearance at Coachella.
