Mahalia has unveiled new single ‘Pressure Points’, featuring Lila Iké.
The reggae-inspired track sees Mahalia exploring themes of intimacy, built around guitar melodies and basslines. The song follows her 2024 single ‘Pick Up The Pace’ and arrives after her second album ‘IRL’.
“I’ve been a fan of Lila for a long time, so working together on this feels really special,” Mahalia explains. “‘Pressure Points’ captures that intoxicating mix of pleasure and pain in relationships we know we should probably walk away from but can’t just yet. It’s about embracing the messy, toxic parts while trying to navigate through them. Sometimes, those pressure points are painful, but they can also spark moments of intense pleasure. I love this song, and I’m so excited for people to hear it!”
Speaking about her current creative direction, she adds: “I love love. But recently, I’ve been leaning into the fun, unserious side of it. The world is so heavy right now—I want my music to be a space where people can find joy and playfulness.”
