Future Utopia has returned with new single ‘Don’t Try This At Home’, the first track to be taken from upcoming EP ‘Memory Boy’.
The project, led by Grammy-winning producer Fraser T. Smith, recorded the track at Smith’s Utopia studio, co-writing with The Earth. The single follows Future Utopia’s 2024 album ‘Django’s High’.
“The track is an uplifting blend of feel good live and electronic basslines, with French Space disco inspired synth and vocals taking you back to late 70’s / early 80’s clubs,” Smith explains. “I played this during our live sets in the summer and it really went off in the crowd. I knew I wanted to release this and it felt like the perfect way to celebrate the New Year!”
Smith has previously worked with artists including Adele, Stormzy, Gorillaz, Dave and Sam Smith, receiving a Grammy for his contribution to Adele’s album ’21’. His previous work as Future Utopia includes ‘We Were We Still Are’, featuring collaborations with Biig Piig, Kae Tempest and TOMI, and ’12 Questions’, which featured Dave, Stormzy and Kano.
