Fat White Family side-project Y have announced their debut EP with new single ‘Why’

London newcomers Y have signed to Hideous Mink Records and SO Recordings, announcing their self-titled debut EP set for release on 4th April, and first single ‘Why’.

Comprising of members from or involved with Fat White Family, Meatraffle and Pregoblin, the five-piece features Adam Brennan on vocals and guitar, Sophie Coppin on vocals and synth, Dan GB on bass, Fells on drums, and Harry Mchale on saxophone.

“‘Why’ is a song that calls everything into question – It’s an ode to the unanswered, endless questions from the trivial, to the deepest philosophical mysteries,” the band explain. “Saxophone dominates the chorus as synth and guitar take the space of the traditional lyrical verses as ultimately we found THE question can only be answered through music.”

29 Sidney and Matilda, Sheffield
30 The Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
