Brighton indie-popsters Hutch are back with their whimsical new single ‘Rustle’

Brighton quartet Hutch have released their new single ‘Rustle’.

The track, produced by Iggy B (Penelope Isles, Gary Numan, Spiritualized), was written during lockdown and explores themes of nature and adventure.

“We wrote the song in lockdown, dreaming of days where we’d be enjoying the sun with friends out in nature,” the band explain. “‘Rustle’ became this fictional child that would be the version of us who went and had these adventures while we were stuck at home, and then come back to tell us about all the fun they had gotten up to. It made days stuck inside and away from new experiences feel a little easier.”

The band continue: “The name ‘rustle’ came from my obsession at the time with Arthur Russell, but I thought it was funny that his name wasn’t spelt like the action ‘to rustle’, and I vowed to name a future child I had Rustle, after the verb.”
