Bradley Simpson has shared new single ‘Carpet Burn’, taken from his upcoming debut solo album ‘The Panic Years’, due 28th February.
The track, written in New York during the album’s creation sessions, was produced by two-time Grammy nominee BOOTS, known for his work with Beyoncé and Run the Jewels. Simpson wrote the song on his 1961 Gibson Hummingbird guitar.
“‘Carpet Burn’ was the first song I wrote when I got to New York to write the album and it always felt really special,” Simpson says. “It’s a song about wanting more time with someone special to you, and it came around really quickly. I wrote it in my hotel room in about half an hour and took it into the studio the next day. The main bulk of the finished song was done on that first day. I’ve been playing it at shows for the past few months and hearing the fans singing the words back without the song even being released has blown my mind so I’m excited for them to have the song!”
‘The Panic Years’ features collaborations with Andrew Wells (Phoebe Bridgers), Anthony Rossomando (Liam Gallagher), and Ina Wroldsen (Calvin Harris). The album follows previous singles ‘Cry At The Moon’, ‘Picasso’, ‘Daisies’ and ‘Always Like This’.
Simpson will embark on a UK and Ireland headline tour following the album’s release.
