Heartworms takes flight with ‘Extraordinary Wings’

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 10:33 AM BY DAN HARRISON

Heartworms’ Jojo Orme has swooped in with ‘Extraordinary Wings’, a properly massive new single. The track, which comes complete with a Gilbert Trejo-directed video paying homage to Orme’s favourite military aircraft (we all have one, rite?), lands ahead of debut album ‘Glutton For Punishment’, produced by the legendary Dan Carey for Speedy Wunderground.

The album touches down on 7th February, followed by a tour that’ll see Heartworms soaring across the UK and Europe. Starting at Southampton’s Joiners on 12th February, they’ll hit London’s Electric Ballroom (13th), Salford’s White Hotel (14th), Leeds’ Headrow House (15th), Newcastle’s Cluny (16th), Glasgow’s King Tut’s (18th), Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire (19th), Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms (21st), Bristol’s Thekla (22nd), Birmingham’s Hare and Hounds (23rd), and Brighton’s Concorde 2 (25th) before jetting off to Europe for shows through March.

Divorce serve up another album teaser with new single ‘Pill’

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 10:22 AM BY LUCY PHILLIPS

Divorce have dropped another absolute stunner with their latest single ‘Pill’, continuing their unstoppable run towards their debut album ‘Drive to Goldenhammer’. The track, which co-vocalist Tiger Cohen-Towell describes as “one of the queerest songs on the record,” showcases the band’s knack for unconventional arrangements while exploring themes of sexual awakening and long-distance love.

You can catch Divorce doing their thing live across the UK and Ireland this spring, kicking off at Oxford’s Bullingdon on 27th March and wrapping up with what’s sure to be a massive night at London’s KOKO on 9th April. The debut album ‘Drive to Goldenhammer’, produced by Catherine Marks at Real World Studios, arrives on 7th March – mark your calendars, etc.

Dan Bejar’s latest Destroyer project involves actual bologna (sort of)

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 10:21 AM BY DAN HARRISON

Dan Bejar is back with news of a fresh Destroyer album, and this time he’s bringing sandwiches. Well, sort of. The follow-up to 2022’s ‘Labyrinthitis’ is called ‘Dan’s Boogie’ and arrives via Merge Records on 28th March, accompanied by lead single ‘Bologna’ – a characteristically intriguing offering featuring Fiver that sees Bejar taking an unusual back seat in his own narrative.

The new record’s announcement comes packaged with a properly old-school VHS-style video for ‘Bologna’, plus a run of live dates that’ll see Destroyer hit up both weekends of Primavera Sound (Barcelona on 7th June and Porto on 14th June). UK fans can catch the action at Manchester’s Gorilla (10th June), Bristol’s Fleece (11th June), and London’s Islington Assembly Hall (12th June), with a Paris date at Trabendo (9th June) squeezed in for good measure.

TXT decide Europe and Macau deserve a bit more love, actually

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 9:27 AM BY DAN HARRISON

K-pop sensations Tomorrow X Together (TXT to their mates) have clearly decided that conquering most of the known world just isn’t quite enough, announcing a fresh batch of dates for their absolutely massive ‘Act: Promise’ world tour.

After spending 2024 selling out shows across Asia and the Americas, the quintet are bringing their signature blend of pop perfection to European shores, with shows lined up in Barcelona, London, Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam.

The European leg kicks off at Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi on March 20th 2025, before hitting London’s O2 Arena on March 25th. They’ll then zip through Berlin’s Uber Arena (March 27th), Paris’s Accor Arena (March 30th), and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome (April 1st). As if that weren’t enough, they’re also heading back to Macau’s Galaxy Arena for two more shows on May 10th and 11th 2025. Tickets for the European dates go on sale via Ticketmaster at 9am GMT on January 17th.
