Kendrick Lamar has surprise released a new album titled ‘GNX’, featuring twelve tracks including a collaboration with SZA.
The new record, which arrives three years after ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’, was first teased with a one-minute preview before appearing in full on streaming services. The SZA collaboration, titled ‘Luther’, features production from Jack Antonoff.
Producer Sounwave had previously hinted at new material following the release of ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’. “We’re starting on the next one now. That’s never going to change, all the way from the Kendrick Lamar EP. The next day, we started on Section.80. It’s just the ideas never stopped,” he told Complex.
Sounwave also revealed he has been joining Lamar on his US tour to maintain their creative momentum, noting that the pair are “like kids in a candy shop” when making music together.
