Barny Fletcher has shared his new single ‘Wasted Sunset’, marking a shift towards more vulnerable territory for the artist.
The intimate indie-pop track explores themes of grief and loss, particularly focusing on Fletcher’s relationship with his mother.
“I wrote ‘Wasted Sunset’ in January of this year. It’s the most personal song considering all the rest of my songs have been upbeat. This time I’m telling my own story and I don’t usually do that,” Fletcher explains. “It’s a good one to end the year with. The production is impressive, especially the violin. Sounds like a classic. I also love the title… ‘wasted’ like something that could’ve been beautiful.”
The track follows his previous singles ‘Scotch Of St James’, ‘Moments In A Lifetime’ and ‘Call Me By Your Name’.
