Louis Dunford has announced details of his debut album ‘Be Lucky’, set to arrive on 14th February via RCA Records.
The North London songwriter’s first full-length release is due on 14th February, and features his latest single ‘Billy Flynn of Bethnal Green’, inspired by a friend of his father – a former East End boxer who found a new identity in Soho’s drag scene.
The record also includes ‘The Local’, which explores themes of community and pub culture. “I wanted it to capture the antics, the sense of community – it’s where I go when I’m up, down, or somewhere in between,” he explains.
The album has been partly shaped by the tragic loss of Dunford’s close friend Ben Kinsella over a decade ago. “Be Lucky is something that I’ve been writing bits of over the years,” Dunford shares. “It’s a way of keeping my friend Ben with me, a way of making sense of things. This album is my story and his.”
