Shawn Mendes has shared new single ‘Heart of Gold’ ahead of his self-titled album

Shawn Mendes has released his latest song ‘Heart of Gold’, taken from his upcoming self-titled album due on 15th November.

The track, written and produced by Mendes alongside Scott Harris, Mike Sabath and Eddie Benjamin, is accompanied by an official music video directed by Connor Brashier with creative direction from Anthony Wilson.

“Grief is a really, really difficult thing to deal with and a huge part of what has helped me has been celebrating that person,” Mendes shares about the track, which was inspired by the memory of a childhood friend. “I would just like to dedicate this song to anyone out there who has lost someone – some who has passed or someone who’s alive – whichever way. This is for them.”

‘Heart of Gold’ follows previous singles ‘Nobody Knows’, ‘Why Why Why’ and ‘Isn’t That Enough’.

To mark the release, a one-night-only global cinema event ‘Shawn Mendes: For Friends And Family Only (A Live Concert Film)’ will screen on 14th November. Filmed at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY, it captures Mendes performing the album in full.
