The Horrors are marking Halloween with their new track ‘Trial By Fire’.
It’s the second single from their upcoming sixth album ‘Night Life’, due 21st March, which features their new lineup of vocalist Faris Badwan and bassist Rhys Webb, joined by Amelia Kidd on keys and Telegram’s Jordan Cook on drums.
“‘Trial By Fire’ is one of the more aggressive songs on ‘Night Life’, bridging the gap between our two industrial EPs and the new album,” explain the band. “Rhys began the demo in Southend isolation, before we got together and twisted it into something meaner. It’s about the curses that follow you through your life. For The Horrors, every day is Halloween.”
The band’s debut ‘Strange House’ arrived in 2007, followed by 2009’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘Primary Colours’, 2011’s ‘Skying’, 2014’s ‘Luminous’, 2017’s ‘V’, and their 2021 EPs ‘Lout’ and ‘Against The Blade’.
